Refund policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026

Every Oak & Psalm piece is printed, stretched, and finished individually after you place your order. We hold no inventory. Nothing exists until it is made for you specifically, and once production begins, your piece cannot be returned to stock or sold to another customer.

Because of this, we do not accept returns or issue refunds for change of mind. This includes, without limitation:

  • Deciding you no longer want the piece
  • Ordering the wrong size
  • The piece not suiting your space, wall color, or décor
  • A gift recipient not wanting the piece
  • Finding the piece elsewhere at a different price
  • Delay in delivery within our stated production and shipping estimates

We encourage you to review the size guidance on each product page carefully before ordering. If you are uncertain about sizing, please contact us at help@oakandpsalm.com before purchasing. We are glad to help, and we would much rather answer a question beforehand than have you receive something that isn't right.

When We Will Replace or Refund

We stand behind the physical quality of every piece we ship. We will provide a replacement or refund, at our election, if your order arrives in any of the following conditions:

Damaged in transit. The canvas, stretcher frame, or printed surface is torn, punctured, creased, dented, warped, or otherwise physically damaged on arrival.

Manufacturing defect. Printing errors, streaking, banding, misalignment, improper stretching, loose or separating canvas, defective mounting hardware, or similar production faults.

Wrong item or size. You received a different piece or a different size than the one you ordered.

Materially different from the listing. The piece you received differs substantially from the artwork shown on its product page.

Claim Window — 14 Days

All claims must be submitted within fourteen (14) calendar days of delivery, as recorded by the carrier's tracking information.

Claims submitted after this period cannot be accepted. This window exists because carrier damage claims are time-limited and because the condition of a piece after two weeks in your home can no longer be reliably attributed to shipping or production.

How to Submit a Claim

Email help@oakandpsalm.com within the 14-day window and include:

  1. Your order number
  2. A description of the issue
  3. Clear photographs showing:
    • The damage or defect itself
    • The full piece, front-facing
    • The shipping box and packaging materials, including any external damage

Photographs are required. We cannot process a claim without them.

Please retain all packaging until your claim is resolved. Carriers frequently require packaging inspection for damage claims, and discarding it may prevent us from resolving your claim.

We will respond to every claim within 2 business days.

Resolution

Where a claim is approved:

  • Replacement is our standard remedy. We will produce and ship a new piece at no cost to you. You will not be charged for the replacement or its shipping.
  • You will not be asked to return the damaged piece. Return shipping on stretched canvas is impractical and expensive, and we would rather put that cost toward making your replacement.
  • Refunds may be issued instead of replacement at our discretion, or where a replacement is unavailable or you request one. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of approval, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Variations That Are Not Defects

Some variation is inherent to the medium and does not constitute a defect:

Color and screen difference. Every monitor, phone, and tablet renders color differently, and no screen is calibrated to match pigment on canvas. Printed pieces generally appear slightly deeper and less luminous than they do on a backlit display. This is normal and expected.

Canvas texture. Canvas is a woven surface. Its weave is visible in the finished piece and interacts with the printed image. This is a characteristic of the material, not a flaw.

Minor variation between pieces. Because each piece is individually printed and hand-stretched, slight differences in wrap tension, edge alignment, and color density occur between individual prints and between sizes.

Gallery wrap edges. The image continues around the sides of the canvas. Some portion of the composition's outer edge is therefore visible on the sides rather than the face. This is intentional to the format.

Cancellations and Changes

Cancellations. Orders may be cancelled for a full refund only if production has not yet begun. Production typically starts within 24 hours of purchase. Email us immediately at help@oakandpsalm.com if you need to cancel. Once production begins, an order cannot be cancelled.

Address changes. Please verify your shipping address at checkout. We can update an address only before the order ships. Once a package is in transit, we cannot redirect it.

Undeliverable packages. If a package is returned to us as undeliverable due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided at checkout, we can reship it at your expense or issue a refund less original shipping and production costs.

Lost or Stolen Packages

Lost in transit. If tracking shows your package has not moved for an extended period or the carrier confirms it lost, contact us and we will file a carrier claim and send a replacement.

Marked delivered but not received. If tracking shows delivery but the package is not present, please check with household members, neighbors, and your building management, and allow 48 hours — carriers occasionally scan early. If it does not appear, contact us and we will assist in filing a carrier claim. We are not able to guarantee replacement for packages confirmed delivered to the address you provided, though we will work with you in good faith.

Additional Terms

Sale and clearance items. Items marked final sale are not eligible for return or refund except in cases of damage or defect as described above.

Gift cards. Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by law.

Chargebacks. Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. We resolve nearly every issue quickly, and a direct conversation is faster than a bank dispute for both of us.

Statutory rights. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be lawfully limited or excluded. Where such rights apply, they operate in addition to this policy.

Governing law. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
